Use your U-Verse service to connect your Mac to the Internet.

The AT&T U-Verse service uses your existing phone-line to deliver a broadband Internet connection to your home or office. The gateway included the U-Verse is capable of providing both a wired and wireless connection for your MacBook. The computer is designed to work with both types of networks and does not require any additional software to make the connection.

      Open your MacBook.

      Click the "AirPort" icon on the top menu bar and click "Turn Wi-Fi ON." Your MacBook will display a list of available networks.

      Click the network name or SSID of the U-Verse router. Type in the password to connect to the network, if there is one, and click "Join" to connect to the U-Verse service.

    Wired Connection

      Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into one of the "LAN" ports on the rear of the AT&T U-Verse gateway.

      Insert the other end into the Ethernet port on the left side of the MacBook.

      Click the "System Preferences" icon on the dock and click the "Network" icon in the menu that appears. Click the "Ethernet" option and click "Apply" to connect to the U-Verse gateway.
