Instructions

1
Remove the pollen from the tiger lily to avoid getting pollen stains on clothing. Gently swipe a toothbrush across the stamen to remove the pollen.
-
2
Prep the flower stems. Remove all leaves and foliage. If you are using roses as accent flowers, remove the thorns.
-
-
3
Trim each flower stem with a silvery knife at an angle to ensure that it receives the best water quality. Each stem should be the exact same length between 10 inches to 14 inches long.
-
4
Pick three flowers to serve as the base or anchor of your bouquet. These are the flowers you will build the bouquet around. Gather the flowers together and wrap floral tape around the stems as a group. Begin wrapping the tape 1 inch to 1 1/2 inches from the bottom of the blooms and overlap each wrap in a smooth, even diagonal. Leave 4 inches of exposed stem at the bottom, so when you reach 4 inches, cut the floral wrap and press it down to hold it into position.
-
5
Add one flower at a time around the anchor flowers, wrapping it onto the anchor flowers with green florist wrap each time. Mix colors, textures, greenery and composition to create interesting mixtures. Consider scents, as well. For example, roses create a fabulous scent when mixed with a tiger lily bouquet.
-
6
Wrap each flower or greenery piece with floral tape, keeping true to the 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch rule from the bottom of the flower blossom and 4 inches from the bottom of the stem. This will add consistency and balance to the bouquet.
-
7
Wrap the entire stem of the bouquet together with florist tape when you are satisfied with the size and shape of the bouquet, keeping up to 4 inches of stem exposed from the bottom.
-
8
Wrap a white decorative ribbon or other type of wrap around the floral tape, using the tape as a guide as to the length and width of the wrap. Wrap it horizontally so that it will be easier to hold and so it will match the flow of the florist wrap.
-
9
Cover the florist tape with the decorative ribbon of your choice. Secure the ribbon into place with a decorative bouquet pin.
