Instructions

    • 1

Color your coffee filters using watercolors and paintbrushes. You will need two coffee filters for each tulip; place them on a paper plate when painting so protect your work surface. Once painted, set aside for 10 to 15 minutes to dry.

    • 2

Trace a circle stencil that is 1 inch to 2 inches in diameter and cut it out from card stock. Place the circle in the middle of a coffee filter and wrap the filter up and around the card stock. Bring the filter up around it and twisting the top edges of the filter for the center of the tulip. Add glue to the filter to secure the hold.

Fold your other filter in half and cut out the middle portion so you are just left with the ruffled outer edge. Wrap the ruffled edge around the middle of the tulip you just made. Create the tulip petals by forming them with your fingers as you wrap the filter ruffles around; glue to secure.

Cut a 12-inch length of wire and poke one end of it through the bottom of the tulip so that it is hidden in the middle of the tulip. Secure it by wrapping floral tape around the outside-bottom of the tulip and around the wire.
