The bobbin can hold threads of varying thickness.

A bobbin is a metal or plastic piece of a sewing machine that feeds thread into the needle. The bobbin usually goes in a slot on the underside of the machine, and some machines also come with bobbin winders that fill the bobbins with thread for you. You can adjust the tension on a bobbin if the thread is not coming out quickly or loosely enough, or if it needs to be tightened. Does this Spark an idea?
