Have silky vibrant hair with a gloss.

Tinted hair gloss treatments give your hair shine while also helping to fix or boost hair color. They are often used on people who have highlights to tone down brassiness, or on those with tints to embellish the color between treatments. However, you can use a gloss without receiving any other color applications and still benefit from the enhanced color. Tinted hair gloss treatments usually last around two to four weeks. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase the gloss treatment that is the correct shade for your hair color. Glosses can be purchased at most beauty supply and drug stores. Ask a salesperson for help in choosing the right color, since using a color that is too light or too dark can severely alter the appearance of your hair.

    • 2

Mix the color if necessary. Some tinted glosses come pre-mixed and just require that you shake the bottle for about a minute before use, while others require that you combine items, such as a color and a conditioner. Follow package directions for your particular gloss.

    • 3

Wash your hair with a moisturizing shampoo. Coloring can cause your hair to be damaged. Moisturizing shampoos can help to repair any dryness.

    • 4

Towel dry your hair and run a wide-toothed comb through it to remove any tangles. Put rubber gloves on your hands to avoid staining your skin, and use your hands to apply the glossing treatment to your hair. Completely coat your entire head of hair with the gloss, much as you would do with shampoo or conditioner. Run a comb through your hair to evenly distribute the gloss.

    • 5

Allow the gloss to sit on your hair for 10 minutes.

    • 6

Rinse the gloss out of your hair completely. It can be beneficial to allow water to run through your hair in the shower for two to three minutes to ensure that all of the gloss is gone. Apply a rinse-out conditioner through your hair, and then style as normal.
