How to Replace a Browning Bulb in an Advantium Oven
GE's Advantium ovens use a combination of heating and browning elements to cook your food very quickly with ample browning and less risk of foods drying out or burning. The traditional browning heat comes from halogen bulbs above the cooking racks, ceramic ambient heating below and the tertiary power of microwaves to speed internal cooking. The result is the cooking speed of a microwave without the flabby, pale results. Instead, lasagna will go a caramelized brown, cookies will crisp and your pie crust will be flaky and golden. GE anticipates that the halogen bulbs will occasionally require replacement, and the company makes the bulbs available for sale on its consumer website, GEAppliances.com. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Disconnect your Advantium oven from the power source at the circuit breaker so that no power is flowing to the unit. If in recent use, allow the oven cavity to cool completely before attempting to clean or work on it.
-
2
Open the oven door, and locate the glass halogen bulb cover on the roof of the oven; it will be a rounded rectangular shape.
-
-
3
Press in the end latch gently to release the glass cover plate. Set the glass cover in a safe spot nearby.
-
4
Pull the halogen bulb out of its socket gently, pulling towards the oven door, not straight down, so you are sliding the bulb out of the cavity. Set the spent bulb aside where it cannot be confused with the fresh bulb.
-
5
Plug the new bulb into the halogen socket, lining up the prongs and pressing lightly until the bulb slides into place fully inside the cavity.
-
6
Slip the tab end of the glass cover into the slot of the oven roof, and press the glass bulb cover back into place until the latch clicks and the cover is suspended securely.
-
7
Restore power to the oven by turning on the circuit breaker.
