iMovie '09 is a desktop video-editing program made by Apple and shipped standard on Apple computer systems. The program is designed to be a relatively easy tool for users to edit video and create movies. iMovie features a number of built-in effects including "Lens Flare," which allows users to emphasize sunlight brightness. Adjusting the effect to increase the brightness of a lens flare is not hard to do with some practice.

      Open the iMovie '09 program on your computer, import a video and select a clip of the video to work with.

      Select "Lens Flare Effect" from the effects pane.

      Locate the preview window in the effects pane and use the cursor to mark the place in the video clip where the center of the lens flare effect will be applied.

      Move the slider beneath the preview window to adjust how the the lens flare effect will sweep across with the movement of the camera.

      Adjust the intensity slider to increase the brightness of the lens flare effect.
