Making your own perfume will liven up your selection of fragrances. This perfume recipe produces a refreshing scent reminiscent of an English garden. Its fragrance comes from a combination of valerian, chamomile and lavender essential oils. The oils you choose have the biggest effect on the end result. Use essential oils instead of fragrance oils, because essential oils are naturally derived from plants and create higher-quality perfumes. All perfumes use alcohol as a base.   • 5 drops chamomile essential oil
  • 3 drops lavender essential oil
  • 5 drops valerian essential oil
  • 1 cup distilled water
  • 5 tsps. vodka

      Blend the essential oils with the vodka in a bowl. Use a plastic pipette to add the oils to the vodka one drop at a time. Continue to stir the mixture with a spoon while dropping more oil into the bowl. Stir until all of the oil is completely blended into the mixture. Let the essential oil and vodka mixture set for 48 hours.

      Mix in the distilled water. Slowly stir it into the oil and vodka mixture a few drops at a time. Allow this mixture to stand for 3 weeks in a dark place so that the scent can mature.
