Fill Santa Claus candy bags with Christmas candy.

Rather than purchasing Santa Claus bags for your children's holiday candy, make the bags yourself for a rewarding and bonding experience with the whole family. Making them also allows each person to add their own style to their individual Santa bag. Make your candy bags more interesting by using textured items, such as cotton balls for Santa's beard. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Lay the paper bag flat and color both sides of the bag red, using crayon, colored pencil or paint. Allow the bag to dry completely if you use paint.

    • 2

Use a Santa face template, complete with a hat, to trace his face onto tan or peach construction paper. The cutout should be small enough to fit on the paper bag.

    • 3

Turn the outline of Santa's face over, cover it with glue and paste it onto one side of the paper bag.

    • 4

Create Santa's face on the outline by gluing two googly eyes and a small pink pom-pom for his nose on the Santa face outline.

    • 5

Fill in the beard and mustache of Santa's face by gluing cotton balls to the paper in the appropriate area.

    • 6

Cover the white part of Santa's hat and place one at the tip of the hat as well.

    • 7

Allow the glue to dry before opening the bags and using them.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can print out a Santa template from arts and crafts websites.

  • Add handles to the bag by hole punching the bag twice on each side, spaced several inches apart and attaching a piece of twine to the holes on both sides.
