Pony beads are a versatile craft supply that are popularly used to make children's costume jewelry. The brightly colored plastic beads can be made into accessories using more than typical stringing techniques with the help of heat and a little creativity. Melted pony beads form raised shapes with flat backs that are a perfect fit to top ring blanks. Things You'll Need

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Aluminum foil
  • Pony beads
  • Glue
  • Ring blank

Instructions

      Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line the baking sheet with foil.

      Arrange the pony beads into the desired shape with the bead edges touching one another onto the lined baking sheet.

      Place the baking sheet into the oven for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove the baking sheet from the oven once all bead centers are no longer visible. Let the melted bead design cool on the baking sheet.

      Remove the melted bead design from the baking sheet. Apply glue to the flat back of the melted bead design.

      Apply the flat ring blank to the glued back side of the melted bead design. Let dry completely.

Tips & Warnings

  • Larger pony bead designs can be made into double or triple finger rings by gluing multiple ring blanks in a row to the back of the melted bead design.
