How to Create Tips for Acronyms in Dreamweaver
Acronyms make referencing long phrases easier by substituting the phrase with a series of letters; for example, a "Serial Advanced Technology Attachment" is reduced to just "SATA." To prevent reader confusion, the first occurrence of an acronym is typically preceded by the actual phrase, but when designing a Web page with Adobe Dreamweaver, you have another option. By programming a Spry tooltip, the actual phrase pops up whenever the reader points his mouse at the acronym.
Instructions

1
Open your Web page in Adobe Dreamweaver.
-
2
Type the acronym wherever you want it to appear and double-click it to select it.
-
-
3
Click "Insert" in the top menu, point to "Spry" and select "Spry Tooltip." A yellow Spry Tooltip box appears beneath the acronym. This box appears only for design purposes; on the actual published page, it is visible only when you point at the acronym.
-
4
Edit the text in the Spry Tooltip box, just as you would regular text.
-
5
Save your changes and upload the HTML page to make it live. The behavior also creates a SpryAssets folder in the save directory, so upload that folder as well.
