How to Make Silk Embellishments for a Wedding Dress
Embellishments for a wedding dress add extra style and pizazz. They can be expensive additions if you buy a dress that already has them sewn onto the garment but you can make your own silk flowers embellishments dress for a fraction of the cost of buying them already applied to the dress. Things You'll Need
- Silk fabric
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
- Pins
- Sewing machine
- Safety pin
- Needle
- Thread to match the silk fabric

Measure a rectangle on the silk fabric that is 4 inches by 18 inches. Cut it out.

Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise with right sides together and pin it in place.

Use the sewing machine to sew the long sides of the rectangle together.

Attach a safety pin to one of the short ends of the rectangle and push it through to the other short side to turn the rectangle right-side out.

Begin rolling the fabric strip, twisting it as you roll.

Use the needle and thread to sew several large stitches through the bottom of the flower to secure it.

Whipstitch the bottom of the flower to the dress. Repeat as desired with additional flower embellishments.
