How to Make a Star on IM Chat
Instant messenger (IM) chat, such as AIM, Yahoo! Messenger or Skype allows you to text chat with friends and family who also have an IM account. Most IM clients allow you to use special symbol characters, such as a star, in your conversation. While you can’t type a star using a keyboard you can copy and paste a star symbol to your IM chat from websites that already display the symbol.

Open your Internet browser and navigate to a website that displays the star symbol such as Facebook-Symbols.com or MSN Symbols on Sherv.net.

Left click and hold your mouse button down while dragging the cursor over the star symbol to highlight it.

Right-click on the highlighted star symbol and select “Copy.”

Navigate to your IM chat window, right-click in the window and select “Paste.” This will create the star symbol in your chat window which will display with your chat text.

Tips & Warnings
Copy the star symbol to a word processing document and save the document on your computer. This allows you to save the symbol for later if you want to use it in an IM chat again.
