A pin corsage is an accessory for a formal occasion.

A corsage is a special occasion accessory, usually reserved for weddings and proms. While fresh flowers wilt, you can make a corsage out of silk flowers instead that is just as elegant and will last forever. Choose high quality silk roses so your creation will be worthy of the occasion. When you wear it on the special day, it will be more meaningful to you because you made it yourself.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut the long stems off two silk roses with the wire cutters so the remaining stems are approximately 3 inches long. Save two leaves as well.

    • 2

Arrange the roses and leaves the way you want them on the corsage. A traditional look is to have one rose directly above the other one and the two leaves on the same side of the stems. Decide how close you want the roses to be to each other.

    • 3

Pick up the bottom rose and begin wrapping floral tape around the stem in a spiral fashion, starting at the bottom. When you get to the spot where you want a leaf attached, let the floral tape catch the stem of the leaf and continue wrapping up. When you are about 1 inch from the base of the rose, hold the top rose in place with its wire touching the wire of the bottom rose.

    • 4

Wrap the floral tape around both stems together until the stem of the bottom rose runs out. Continue wrapping floral tape around the stem of the first rose. Tuck in another leaf as in Step 3 for the top rose.

    • 5

Lay a piece of 1-inch wide, 1-foot long silk ribbon flat on a work surface. Trim off each end at a 45-degree angle with sharp scissors. Add a quarter-size dab of hot glue to the center of the back of the corsage and place it in the middle of the ribbon so the length of the arrangement is perpendicular to the ribbon. Allow the glue to dry and tie the ribbon to the recipient's wrist tightly with a big, loose bow.

Make a pin-on corsage instead by skipping Step 5 and pinning the corsage to the dress with a long straight pin. Stick the pin through the floral tape in the back and through the fabric of the dress.
