How to Keep Eyeliner From Rubbing Off
A line along the upper or lower edge of your eyelid can instantly complement your eyes. But applying too much eyeliner can lead to smudges and smears and the eyeliner is prone to rub off when you open your eyes. Greasy skin can also cause your eyeliner to bleed. To avoid constantly reapplying eyeliner throughout the day, use the correct products and create a matte base for your eyeliner to adhere to. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Prep your eyelids with a makeup or eyelid primer and set it with powder. Primer smooths your skin, helps makeup last longer and forms a base that your eyeliner can adhere to. Dust loose translucent powder or a neutral eye shadow over your eyelids to absorb any oil.
-
2
Use a waterproof eyeliner formula; these last longer than non-waterproof formulas because they are water- and sweat-resistant.

3
Smudge your eyeliner with eye shadow to make it last longer. Line your eyes with eyeliner pencil. Run an eye shadow brush with eye shadow in a similar color as your pencil liner over your eyeliner.

4
Blend your eyeliner with eyeliner sealant. Place a drop of eyeliner sealant on the back of your hand. Run your eyeliner brush over a cake eyeliner or colored eye shadow, and mix it with the sealant before lining your eyes. Using sealant instead of water helps your liner last longer. Sealant protects your liner from sweat and water.

Keep your eyes shut for one minute after applying eyeliner. Blinking your eyes when your eyeliner is wet can make it smudge the makeup on your eyelids.
