Place your clay pot in a container that's large enough to accommodate it.

Fill the container with a solution of one part bleach and nine parts water. Fill the container so that the pot is completely covered.

Soak the pot in the solution for about 24 hours.

Scrub the pot with a wire brush to clean off all of the dirt. The residue should come off fairly quickly after the soaking.

Wipe the pot down with a cloth to dry it.
