How to Do a Hairdo for Curly Hair
Curly hair is prone to frizzing and drying out, difficult to style, and temperamental in wet or humid conditions. However, curly hair is versatile and adds extra glamour to many hairstyles. With good styling products, the right styling tips and a few tools, you can achieve many different styles from your curls. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Tail comb
- Defining hair wax
- Bobby pins
- Hairspray
- Wide-tooth comb
- Hairband
- Hair ties
- Curl cream
- Hairbrush

Take a tail comb and make a neat part wherever you prefer to part your hair, either in the middle or down the side.

Starting on the left side, using your tail comb, section off a piece of hair running from your part to your temple. This section of hair should be about 2 inches wide.

Apply a small amount of defining hair wax to the section and braid the hair. Take the end of the braid and pull it back to the middle of the back of your head. Pin it down using a bobby pin. Repeat the previous steps on the right side of your hair.
Hair Twists

With a tail comb, part your hair on the side using the arch of your eyebrow as a guide. Give your hair a brush with your hairbrush or a wide-tooth comb to ensure it's smooth.

Starting on the right side, take your tail comb and select a section of hair running from the part to your ear, and from the front of your hair line to the crown, about where the back of your ear is.

Hold this section and twist the hair in towards your head. Secure the twist with two bobby pins. Spray the twist with hairspray to smooth it over and to fully secure it. Repeat the previous steps on the left side of your hair. Spray the twists with hairspray.
Curly Side Bun

Comb your hair back to ensure it's smooth. Put a hairband on and push it back so it's about halfway back on the top of your head.

Bring your hair back and to the sideand secure it with a hair tie in a low ponytail. Apply a small about of curl cream to the top of your hair to smooth it.

Section off a curl from your side ponytail, bring it up just over the hair tie and pin it with a bobby pin. This will cover the hair tie. Do this with all of your curls until your have no hair left hanging down and the hair tie is fully covered. Add a hair accessory such as a flower to the top of the bun, to dress it up.
