How to Make a Bracelet With a Brooch

A brooch is an often large decorative pendant outfitted with a rear clip pin that will hook the brooch onto fabric. Create an easy brooch bracelet by removing the clip and inserting the brooch into the center of an already assembled link-style bracelet. The bracelet used should have a repeating pattern of metal loop links that could be snipped with wire cutters and replaced with jump rings. Link bracelets may feature beads or gemstones between the metal loops as decoration. Choose a bracelet that matches the style and color of your brooch.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay the brooch on the table facing down. Remove the back clip and its accessories using wire cutters. Use a metal file to work off any remaining rough edges, if necessary.

    • 2

Note that if the brooch doesn't have loops or loop-like decorations on both ends, you'll need to drill holes for the jump rings to slip through. Make one hole in each end of the brooch, where the bracelet will connect.

    • 3

Use wire cutters to snip the link bracelet into two halves. Open two jump rings using pliers. Slip the jump rings over the links on the ends of the newly formed bracelet segments. Slide the jump rings through the holes or loops on the brooch. Use the pliers to clamp the jump rings closed.
