Word's "Page Layout" and "Design" commands can insert different footers.

Microsoft Word 2010 can insert a different footers at the bottom of a mutli-page document page. For example, one document containing collection of one-page stories can display a different footer for each author’s name. Inserting section breaks and stopping links to previous pages allows you to update each footer entry for the specific page.

Instructions

    • 1

      Open the saved Word document.

      Click the start of the page where you wish to start, stop or edit the footer.

      Click the “Page Layout” tab.

      Click the arrow next to the “Breaks” button in the “Page Setup” group. A list of options appears.

      Click “Next Page” under the “Section Breaks.”

    • 6

      Double-click the footer area near the bottom of the page. The “Header & Footer Tools” ribbon displays the “Design” tab. The footer will be free to edit.

      Click the “Link to Previous” button in the “Navigation” group. The button will turn off.

      Type the new footer information in the footer area. To remove a footer, click and drag on the unwanted footer text. Press the “Delete” key.

      Click the red “Close Header and Footer” button in the “Close” group on the “Design” tab.

    • 10

      Repeat Steps 2 to 9 for the next footer.
