1
Remove the wand from the mascara tube and blot the tip with a tissue to remove the excess mascara. This will prevent you from applying too much mascara at one time to your lower lashes.
-
2
Look at the mirror and tip your head down slightly. Hold the mascara wand in a vertical position. Starting at the outside lashes, move the tip of the mascara wand across your lower lashes to the inside lashes.

3
Immediately remove any clumps of mascara on your eyelashes with the mascara wand by passing the wand over the clump to lift it. Place the clump on the tissue.
-
4
Repeat Step 2 once or twice more until you have achieved the look you desire.

5
Place eye makeup remover on a cotton swab and wipe away any mascara that may have accidentally brushed onto the skin around your eyes. Use tweezers to separate any clumps of lashes that might be stuck together by placing the tip of the tweezers between the lashes, and brushing it in a downward stroke.
