Instructions

    • 1

Apply glue along one of the long, thin edges of a Popsicle stick. Press the long thin edge of another Popsicle stick onto the glued edge of the first stick. Hold the sticks together for a few seconds to form a bond between the glue and the Popsicle sticks.

    • 2

Run glue along the long, thin edge on the opposite side of the second Popsicle stick. Press the long, thin edge of a third Popsicle stick onto the glued edge of the second Popsicle stick. Hold the sticks together to form a bond between the glue and the sticks.

    • 3

Continue this process of gluing Popsicle sticks together until you have a collection of 10 Popsicle sticks glued together.

    • 4

Create another collection of 10 glued together Popsicle sticks following the directions in Steps 1 through 3.

    • 5

Lay one collection of sticks so that they are laying horizontally. Apply hot glue along the top of each of the Popsicle sticks. Press the second collection of Popsicle sticks on top of the first collection, positioning the second collection so that they lay vertically.

    • 6

Set the Popsicle stick boat on top of a basin filled with water. The boat will float on top of the water.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try floating objects on top of the boat to test its buoyancy. Use small items, such as leaves, feathers and small plastic toys.
