How to Minimize to the Dock on ObjectDock

ObjectDock is a start menu replacement program for Windows that mimics the dock interface of the Macintosh operating system. Stardock is the company behind ObjectDock and several other application for the Windows operating system. You can configure ObjectDock in several different ways and the paid version, ObjectDock Plus, has even more configuration options. Minimizing the dock so that it doesn't appear when you don't need it is possible in both ObjectDock Free and ObjectDock Plus.

      Right-click on the ObjectDock anywhere.

      Point to "Settings" and then point to "View." Click "Autohide." The ObjectDock will minimize out of sight after a pre-determined time.

      Adjust the length of the Autohide in the Settings menu. Right-click on the ObjectDock again, point to "Settings" and click "Settings." Click on the "Settings" tab. Click the "Performance Options" button and then move the slider to adjust the speed with which the ObjectDock minimizes. The left side is faster and the right side is slower. When you're done, click "OK."

Tips & Warnings

  • Move the ObjectDock to another location on your screen by right-clicking, pointing to "Settings" and then "Position." You can place it at the top, bottom, left or right side of your screen.
