How to Decorate a Cupcake Stand for a Bridal Shower
The bridal shower is an opportunity for friends of the bride to give gifts prior to the wedding. The event is usually hosted by one or more of the bridesmaids. Food is generally served at the bridal shower -- usually appetizers and small plate meals. Cupcakes have become a common treat at bridal showers. Cupcakes are usually displayed on a cupcake stand. Decorating a cupcake stand should be done with the bride's taste in mind and can vary greatly by what material is used.
Things You'll Need
- Silk or real flowers
- Decorative vegetation
- Tulle fabric or lace
- Fruit and chocolate
- Double-sided tape
- Paper doilies or ribbons
- Molded foam, such as cake dummies
- Cake boards
- Glue,
- Shelf paper
- Ribbon

Add silk or real flowers interspersed with the cupcakes. Use flowers that with be used in the wedding ceremony. For example, if the bouquet is white roses, decorate the cupcakes stand with white roses. Add some decorative leaves, baby's breath and other colorful vegetation to dress up the stand.

Wrap the cupcake stand in tulle fabric or lace. Cover the flat surfaces with layers of the fabric and drape thin sheets of tulle or lace between the cupcakes.

Add colorful fruit, such as strawberries, and chocolate bonbons to fill in the gaps of cupcake stands that have flat surfaces.

Use double-sided tape to attach colorful paper doilies or ribbons to the flat surfaces and sides of the stand.

Create your own cupcake stand using molded foam -- such as cake dummies used by bakeries for decoration purposes -- cake boards, glue, shelf paper and ribbon. Use three different sizes of molded foam to create the tier shape.
