Measuring any crocheted in the round item may seem like a daunting task because of the tube-shaped fabric; but it actually isn't, as long as you're using a simple and accurate measuring method. Follow the steps below to calculate the circumference of any round tube of crocheted fabric.

      Lay the tube of crochet in the round down flat. Smooth out the surface, taking care not to stretch the crocheted fabric.

      Measure the flattened tube's width using a tape measure. Hold the end of the tape measure at one folded edge and bringing the tape measure across to the other folded edge of the flat tube formed by crocheting in the round. Do not stretch the fabric.

      Multiply the measurement across the flat tube by two for the circumference of the tube of the crochet in the round.
