Big, voluminous hair is an attractive feature that many women want to have. Hair looks fuller, healthier and more stylish when it is full of volume instead of soft and limp. If you have naturally thin hair, you can still achieve this look. Use styling products specially formulated to help give your hair more body, and you'll be making people think you have naturally thick hair before you know it.
Things You'll Need
- Volumizing shampoo
- Volumizing conditioner
- Mouse, root spray or volumizing cream
- Hair dryer
- Round brush
- Hair clips
Wash hair with a shampoo and conditioner specially formulated to add volume to your hair. Look for products with labels that state they're specifically for volumizing purposes.
Apply a volumizing product such as mousse, root spray or thickening cream to your roots. This gives them an extra boost, creating volume. Only apply these products to your roots, as adding them to the rest of your hair weighs it down.
Flip your hair upside-down to blow-dry while massaging your roots with your fingers. This helps to add volume. After the back of your hair is dry, flip your head back up.
Use a round brush to dry the rest of your hair. Break your hair up into 2-inch sections using hair clips. Focusing on one section at time, place the round brush at the base of your roots. Lift the section of hair up while aiming the hair dryer directly at it. Run the brush up and down the section of hair until it is completely dry.
