Back to school is the time to get new school clothes and accessories. That doesn't mean that you can't have a little fun and update kids' clothes and shoes. With creativity and a little paint, you can create one-of-a-kind shoes that your boy will be proud to show off. Decorating a boy's shoes for school can save money and give him a unique style.

Things You'll Need

  • Shoes
  • Pencil
  • Pen (optional)
  • Acrylic paint
  • Small bowl
  • Small paintbrush
  • Drop cloth
  • Clear acrylic spray
  • Soap (optional)

Instructions

      Draw stars on the shoes with a pencil or pen. Make the stars different sizes.

      Shake a bottle of white acrylic paint. Squirt some into a small bowl. Dip a small paintbrush into the paint and fill in the middle of the stars. Do the same with other colors of acrylic paint if you wish to add color.

      Put the shoes out in the sun or in a dry room. Let them sit for 24 hours before touching them.

      Place a drop cloth outside on pavement or grass. Set the shoes on it. Spray clear acrylic spray onto the shoes. Let them dry for one hour.

      Spray a thin coat of acrylic spray over the first coat. Let dry for one hour.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you get acrylic spray on your skin, wash the spray off immediately with soap and water.
