How to Make Graphs From Log Equations on Excel

Excel lets you create, edit and view spreadsheets that contain data in the form of numbers, graphs and formulas. You can insert all types of formulas into your spreadsheet, including LOG formulas. Once these formulas are inserted into your document, you can create a graph from the data through the Insert menu.

Instructions

    • 1

Double-click the Excel program icon to launch the program. Click the "File" menu and select the "New" option to create a new spreadsheet.

    • 2

Enter the data that you want to find the LOG of in column A.

    • 3

Type the following formula in cell B1: "=LOG(A1)." Press the Enter key to obtain the LOG of the data entered in cell A1.

    • 4

Repeat the process for the rest of the data in column A. Each cell in column B should correspond to the same numbered cell in column A.

    • 5

Click on cell A1 and drag your cursor to the last cell in column B. This will highlight all of the data.

    • 6

Click the "Insert" tab, then select the "Charts" heading. Click on the "Scatter" chart type, then select the "XY Scatter Plot" sub-type. The graph containing the LOG formulas will be inserted into the spreadsheet.
