You can share sounds on your iWeb website.

When you’re working on a website with iWeb, you might have some sounds on your Mac that you would like to include on the site. For example, you recorded a song with GarageBand, Apple’s native application for making music, and you now want to share it. IWeb enables you to quickly add audio files from your Mac to your website.

Instructions

      Click “Applications” on your Mac’s Dock, and then click “iWeb” to launch Apple’s native website-building program. Thumbnail pictures representing each page of your website appear in the left pane of the iWeb window.

      Click the thumbnail of the page to which you want to add sound.

      Click the “Add Page” button at the bottom of the iWeb application window if you want to create a new page for your sounds. The pages template window appears. Click the name of the website style you want to use, such as “Formal” or “Road Trip.” Click a page template, such as “Welcome” or “Blank,” and then click “Choose” to make a new page based on your selection.

      Click the “Show Media” button at the bottom of the iWeb window. The media window appears. Click the “Audio” tab in the media window. A list of categories appears, including GarageBand and iTunes. Click a category. A list of audio files appears in the media window.

      Click the name of an audio file to select it, and then click the “Play” button at the bottom of the media browser window to hear the audio file. Drag the name of the audio file into the main iWeb window. It appears as a box with audio controls at the bottom. The box is labeled “Drag Images Here.”

      Click the “Photos” tab in the media window if you want to drag a photo onto the audio file you just placed in the iWeb page. Click “iPhoto,” and then click the name of a photo album to view thumbnails of photos stored on your Mac. Drag the thumbnail of a picture on the “Drag Images Here” box of the audio file.

      Click “Insert” from the iWeb menu, and then click “Text Box” if you want to add a text box to describe the audio file. Click the text box, and type some words to describe the sound. When people load your website, they’ll see the image and text box, with a “Play” button to press if they want to play your sound.
