DIY: Santa Roof Sound Maker
Many young children stay up late on Christmas Eve to listen for sounds of Santa Claus landing on the roof. To excite children about the upcoming holiday and get them in the Christmas spirit, make a noisemaker that resembles the sound of Santa and his sleigh landing on the rooftop. Use such Santa Clause roof sound makers as instruments for Christmas carols and holiday jingles.
Things You'll Need

- Felt

Block Noisemaker
-
1
Trace with washable fabric chalk each side of two identical wooden blocks on a piece of felt. Use green or red felt for Christmas colors.
-
2
Cut out the felt pieces and glue to each side of the blocks, so that both blocks are fully covered.
-
-
3
Hot glue jingle bells to the top of each block. Arrange the jingle bells in the shape of a star or Christmas tree, if desired. Note: if kids are completing this craft, an adult should assist with this step.
-
4
Hold a block in each hand and clap the blocks together. Clap together the sides opposite the jingle bells. The felted blocks produce a clomping sound to resemble the thud of the heavy sleigh landing.
Glove Noisemakers

Hot glue a small jingle bell to the tip of each finger on a pair of stretch gloves. Use red or green gloves, if desired.
-
6
Place a glove on each hand. Firmly cup or clasp the hands together to mimic the thud and jingle of Santa's sleigh landing on the roof.
