How to Glue a Popsicle House Together
Constructing a Popsicle house is a creative way to demonstrate your visual art skills. Gluing the sticks together is a straightforward process and involves standard white glue. The trick to expeditious construction involves the proper arrangement of the sticks. Create a brace for each panel of the house as your bonding point, in lieu of gluing the long edges of each stick together. Popsicle houses are an ideal after school or weekend activity you can enjoy with a child.

Lay 12 standard 4 1/2-inch-long Popsicle sticks side by side. Adjust the sticks so the long edges touch and the short edges are facing you.

Coat the entire length of another Popsicle stick with white glue. Bond the stick lengthwise across the 12-stick panel at center. Repeat steps one and two five additional times to create six total panels.

Arrange four panels into a three dimensional square, with the brackets facing inside. Bond the four corners of the square with white glue.

Lay the fifth panel on a a work surface so the bracket side is facing up. Position one of the flat edges of the sixth panel against one of the flat fifth panel edges. Adjust the sixth panel so it sits in an "L" formation to the fifth panel and so both brackets are facing the same direction. Bond the "L" together with white glue. The "L" acts as the roof for the house.

Set the roof atop the square house walls. Bond the underside of the roof to the top edges of the square with white glue.

Coat the house with acrylic paint. Paint windows and doors onto the house. Allow two hours for the craft to dry before handling or displaying.
