How to Decorate a Room With the Bed at an Angle
An angled bed is a slightly unconventional twist on a standard bedroom. Instead of pushing it back against the wall and letting it blend into the space, an angled bed makes a statement and stands out. Because it's different than the usual arrangement, you may find it difficult to place your other items, such as lamps and bedside tables. With a little ingenuity, you'll find the right place for everything you need to create the perfect bedroom. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Fill the space behind your headboard with wall art. Since you'll have two walls instead of one, look for two large, matching prints or smaller art that functions as a collage. Find colors that echo those in your usual bedspread.
-
2
Hang lamps from the ceiling. Purchase two pendant lamps and affix them to the ceiling on either side of the bed. They'll be closer and provide more direct light than bedside tables, which might look awkward next to an angled bed.

3
Use an unconventional bedside table. Unless you want to line up the usual, boxy table with the wall, look for a tall, round display table to hold your book and glass of water. Set it at or slightly behind your pillows to make climbing into bed easier.
-
4
Hang a bed canopy directly above your mattress and pull the drapes off to the side. They'll frame your headboard and make the bed even more decorative.
-
5
Leave the rest of the furniture in your room flush to the walls. An angled bed takes up more walking space than a bed against a wall and you don't want your room to feel cramped.
