How to Open Animated GIFs in Adobe CS2
Adobe ImageReady in Adobe CS2 will open and display animated GIFs. Though other Adobe products, such as Adobe Photoshop, will open the animated GIF file, only the first frame displays. However, if you first open the animated GIF in Adobe ImageReady, you can then move the animated GIF over to the Photoshop interface for editing.

Right-click on the animated GIF file to open the File context menu.

Click the “Open With” option. A window containing icons for installed programs opens.

Scroll to and click on the entry for “Adobe ImageReady.” The animated GIF file opens and displays in the ImageReady main window.
