How to Make Ruffled Crepe Paper Streamers

Thread a sewing machine with thread that complements the colored crepe paper streamers you are making ruffled. Partially unroll two rolls of streamers.

Lay the unrolled ends of the streamers side by side underneath the needle. Move one streamer so it overlaps the other streamer.

Let the unrolled streamers rest side-by-side underneath your sewing chair. Make sure the ends of the crepe paper rolls extend toward the sewing machine. The short end of the streamers should be evenly aligned and you will be sewing a seam vertically down the center of the overlapped streamers.

Set the sewing machine so it will make wide stitches.

Position your hands on either side of the streamers to guide the crepe paper under the sewing machine. Try to keep the seam straight as you sew.

Tips & Warnings
Take breaks, as needed, to make sure that the rolls of crepe paper stay straight and do not become tangled.
Avoid pulling the crepe paper streamers too hard since they can rip.
Make sure that the crepe paper does not get caught in the chair legs.
