How to Make a Ribbon Corsage Hair Clip
A fancy hair bow makes a little girl feel grown up and it can be worn on any occasion, from weddings to Easter to birthday parties. The large, loopy bows that are reminiscent of corsages are sometimes attached to hair clips for easy styling, which is convenient, but it can be expensive if you need to buy bows for several girls or in many colors. Instead, you can make ribbon corsage hair clips at home.
Things You'll Need
- 4 pieces of ribbon, 1 ½ inches by 10 inches
- Hot glue gun
- Glue
- Needle
- Thread
- 3-inch hair clip
- Silk flowers, buttons or a brooch

1
Fold one of the ribbons into a loop and secure the ends together with hot glue. Press the center of the loop together so it looks like a bow-tie. Stitch the loop together at this spot. The stitching does not have to be neat because it will not be visible.

2
Repeat step 1 for all four ribbons. Stack two of the ribbon bow-ties on top of each another so they make an “x” and sew the centers together. Repeat this with the other two bow-ties and then stitch both stacks together, keeping the “x's” offset. This will result in all four bow-ties stacked together to make a large, loopy bow.

Glue embellishments such as silk flowers, a brooch or fake jewels into the center of the loopy bow. Allow to dry.

4
Apply a line of hot glue along the entire length of the metal hair clip and press the bottom of the bow onto it, making as much contact with the clip as possible.

Tips & Warnings
Use shorter ribbons for smaller bows or longer ribbons to make streamers hanging from the bow.
Start with ribbons in four different colors for a brighter bow, or use more than four ribbons to make one with even more loops.
Try using the extra fabric from a hemmed dress to make a bow that matches an outfit exactly.
