How to Alter PDF Titles

The Portable Document File (commonly known as PDF) is a digital document format created by Adobe. The PDF is used to quickly and easily transfer multi-page documents via email and other digital distribution methods. When you save a PDF document, the application in use will ask you to enter a title for the document. If later you decide to change this title, you can easily rename the PDF.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the folder containing the PDF documents you wish to rename.

    • 2

Right-click a PDF file, select “Rename.” Alternatively, select the document and click “Edit,” then “Rename.” The PDF's title will become an editable text field.

    • 3

Enter the desired new name (maintaining the “.pdf” file extension) and press “Enter” to save the changes. Repeat for additional PDF files.
