How to Decorate a Bridal Luncheon With Bright Blues

A bridal luncheon can serve as a substitute for a bridal shower or even a bachelorette party. It can also simply be a time for the bride and her bridesmaids to get together before or after the wedding to discuss last minute details or reminisce about the events of the big day. The decorations for the bridal luncheon can play into the decorations and color scheme of the wedding, or the bride can opt for them to be completely separate. Using a bright blue for the decor palette is an appropriate choice since it references the wedding adage "something old, something new, something borrow and something blue."

Instructions

1. Incorporate blue into the table linens. Since you are using a bright blue, having a monotone blue tablecloth is too harsh on the eyes. Choose a tablecloth with a bright blue pattern or detailing instead. You could also use a white tablecloth and add blue accents, such as blue chair covers, chair sashes or napkins.

2. Work blue into the floral centerpieces on the table. Incorporate blue flowers such as irises or hydrangea into the arrangement to tie in the blue theme.

3. Decorate the centerpieces with additional blue accents by placing bright blue gemstones into vases and tying the vases' lips with a blue ribbon.

4. Place a bright blue charger underneath the luncheon plates for a subtle burst of color. A charger, also called an under plate, is a large plate-like dish accent that sits beneath a dinner plate. The charger provides a burst of color along the border of the dinner plate.

5. Fill clear, plastic baggies with blue candy, such as blue jelly beans, and tie the bag with a blue ribbon. Place a bag of blue candy at each place setting as a favor.
