1
Wash the hair thoroughly from root to tip with shampoo. Rinse out the shampoo with warm water and apply a lightweight conditioner to the ends. Complete the wash with a cold water rinse to close the pores and cuticles and seal in the shine.

2
Untangle the hair gently with a wide-tooth comb or your fingers. Create a part on either side of the scalp. The part should line up with the outer end of the eyebrow. Comb the bangs forward starting from the top of the ears.

3
Squeeze a dime-size amount of hair pomade into your palms. Rub the product together in your hands. Tousle the hair with the pomade focusing on the ends and working your way up toward the scalp.

4
Attach the diffuser to the blow dryer and turn it on low heat. Blow-dry the hair while combing the bangs to the side with a vent brush. Give the bangs a cool blast of hair with the blow dryer when they are nearly dry.

5
Heat the flat iron to a medium to high heat setting. Separate a 1-inch section of hair from the bangs and place it between the hot plates. Slowly pull down the length of the hair with the flat iron. Repeat with the rest of the bangs.

6
Pull the hair to the side with the vent brush while the hair is still warm. Shape the side-swept bangs with your fingers until you have reached the desired look. Apply a lightweight hairspray to keep the bangs in place.

Tips & Warnings
Side-swept bangs should always be swept to the side opposite of the side in which the hair is parted.
It may take several weeks of wearing side-swept bangs to “train” your hair to stay that way without the use of styling products.
