How to Remove Leftover Paper From Linoleum
Linoleum is an extremely durable floor covering that can often withstand wear for several decades. It is for this reason that linoleum is often used in buildings that frequently experience heavy foot traffic. Linoleum, however, does eventually require replacement. Linoleum is secured to the underlying floor with an adhesive paper backing. Oftentimes the paper does not lift off of the floor with the linoleum. Removing the paper residue is a straightforward process, but can be time-consuming if you are removing the paper from a large surface area. Does this Spark an idea?

Pour a mixture of hot water and liquid dishwasher detergent into a spray bottle.

Spray the paper with the mixture and allow a few minutes to pass for the solution to soak into the paper.

Lift the paper off of the floor with a floor scraper. Position the blade of the scraper at a 45-degree angle and push the scraper underneath the edges of the paper.

Repeat the spraying and scraping process until all of the paper is removed.
