How to Make a Fairy-Tale Prince Costume
Nearly every fairy tale, from The Little Mermaid to Cinderella, contains a prince. If you want to make a prince costume for yourself or a child, save yourself some cash by making your own fairy tale prince costume at home. Purchase a white button-up shirt and maroon or gold track or sweat pants from a thrift store to get started.

1
Cut all of the buttons off the white shirt. Replace them with large gold buttons. Thread the needle and sew each button by sticking the needle through the fabric of the shirt, then through each button hole. Repeat until each button is securely attached. Cut the thread and tie it in a double knot.
-
2
Draw an oval 6 inches wide and 12 inches long on your gold card stock and cut it out with scissors.
-
-
3
Fold the top of the oval down to the bottom to create a crease. Unfold and cut along the crease so you have two halves of an oval.
-
4
Hot glue gold fringe all the way around the curved side of each half oval. To do this measure the gold fringe around the curved side of the half oval and cut it. Then put a line of glue all the way around the curved side and press the gold fringe into the glue. Allow to dry for 15 minutes.
-
5
Glue the two pieces of card stock to the shirt with the straight edge against the collar and rounded edge over the shoulder. You should use hot glue and glue only along the straight edge.
-
6
Place a black belt loosely around the waist, over the coat.
-
7
Finish the costume off with maroon or gold pants, black dress shoes and a gold crown.
