How to Make Clones in iMovie
With the way a day can pass by so quickly, there's a pretty good chance you may have wanted to clone yourself a time or two, just to be able to get everything done that you needed to. While that's not possible physically, it is possible to do electronically. By using iMovie's green screen feature, you can clone yourself on the screen in just a few steps.
Instructions

1
Record the clone images by setting up a tripod or other stationary device and shooting the subject first on one side of the screen, then on the other. Be sure that the subject does not cross over the midpoint -- or the point where you plan to mix the two sides.
-
2
Open iMovie and start a new project by clicking "File" and "New Project."
-
-
3
Connect your camera to your computer with a FireWire cable and turn the camera on. This should initiate the iMovie import window; if it doesn't, click the camera icon, then click "Import" to import the video you just recorded. Be sure to rewind the camera to the start of the video before importing, if need be.
-
4
Add the left-hand clip to the Timeline by selecting the portion you want to use from the pane above and dragging it down to the Timeline.
-
5
Repeat Step 4 for the right-hand clip, this time dragging the right-hand clip over the left-hand clip. This opens a popup window.
-
6
Select "Green Screen" from the popup window.
-
7
Click on the "Preview" screen in the top right of the iMovie pane. Drag the corners from the right-hand side toward the middle of the Preview window. This causes both sides of your "clone" to appear.
-
8
Click "Done" from the Preview window. You should now see both sides of your clone when you play the video.

Tips & Warnings
You'll need to have iMovie's Advanced Settings initiated to have the Green Screen option. To do this, click "iMovie" from the top menu, then "Preferences" and "General." Click the box that reads "Advanced Tools," then close the box.
