How to Bypass a Boondocker Box

How to Bypass a Boondocker Box thumbnail
Avoid getting stranded by regularly testing your snowmobile's fuel efficiency.

Boondocker specializes in manufacturing and selling products that improve a recreational vehicle's performance. One of these products is a control box that connects a snowmobile's Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to its fuel injectors. With a control box, you can modify the signals sent between the ECU and the fuel injectors to improve the sled's fuel efficiency. The control box comes with a battery/jumper connector that allows you to bypass the control box. You might want to do this to test the snowmobile's performance when it's not hooked up to the control box.

Instructions

    • 1

Check that the EFI plug is plugged into the ECU on your snowmobile.

    • 2

Unplug the control box from the end of the EFI harness that isn't plugged into the ECU. The control box simply pulls out.

    • 3

Insert the jumper bypass connection into the end of the EFI harness that isn't plugged into the ECU. The jumper bypass connection is the shorter of the two white connectors on the battery/jumper connector. This will result in the ECU being directly connected to the snowmobile's fuel injectors.
