Instructions

    • 1

Decide on a color scheme for your flowers. You will need four sheets of tissue paper for each flower, and each piece of tissue paper can be the same color, or varying shades of the same color depending on preference.

    • 2

Cut your four sheets of tissue paper into rectangles measuring 4-by-6-inches and stack your rectangles on on top of the other. Lay your rectangles with the 6-inch sides on the left and right and the 4-inch sides on the top and bottom.

    • 3

Begin making 3/4 inch accordion folds at the bottom of your rectangles, and work your way all the way up.

    • 4

Wrap a piece of wire around the center of your accordion folded strip of tissue paper. The wire should be however long you want your stem to be.

    • 5

Place a small piece of clear tape over the wire on both sides to ensure it stays in place.

    • 6

Curve the straight edges on both ends of the accordion strip using scissors.

    • 7

Pull the layers of the accordion fold away from the center, one piece at a time.

    • 8

Use colorful ribbon to cover the wire and create the stem.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make these flowers larger, simply use four entire sheets of 20-by-30 inch tissue paper and make 1 1/2 inch accordion folds.
