Instructions

    • 1

Paint the outside of your beer mug with a green non-toxic glass paint. Non-toxic ceramic paint will work as well.

    • 2

Wait until the green paint has dried completely.

    • 3

Paint a leprechaun on three sides of the beer mug -- leaving out the side where the handle is attached -- using a stencil and non-toxic white glass paint. You can buy leprechaun stencils online or at a craft store.

    • 4

Paint a row of small shamrocks around the entire base of the beer mug, using a stencil and non-toxic white glass paint.

    • 5

Cut four pieces of green, white and gold ribbon, each 6 inches long, for a total of 12 pieces. Then, pile the ribbons on top of each other with the ends aligned and tie them to the top of the beer mug's handle. Finally, run the blade of a pair of scissors over the top of each piece of ribbon several times to make tight curls in them.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don’t want to tie ribbon around the handle of your beer mug, decorate it with strings of green and white beads and St. Patrick's Day charms.
