How to Make Shoe Cleaner

However, there are those that choose not to use mass produced solutions to clean shoes, opting instead to use homemade shoe cleaner. To keep your shoes in tip top shape so they last longer and remain attractive, it is imperative that you clean them on a regular basis. With homemade shoe cleaner you are not only saving money, you are protecting the environment by using eco-friendly solutions that clean your shoes as well as anything you can buy in the stores.

Things You'll Need

• Bowl
• Spoon
• Measuring cup
• Water
• Olive oil
• Lemon juice

Instructions

1. Pour a half cup of water into a bowl. Add a half cup of olive oil to the water and stir. The olive oil in the mixture cleans and shines your shoes, which makes them look newer.

2. Squeeze a few drops of lemon juice into the olive oil and water solution and mix well. Lemon juice is used as a cleaning solvent in this solution; it helps to remove imbedded dirt and tough stains from shoes.

3. Place the mixture into a tightly sealed container and store it in your cleaning cabinet for future use. To use it, apply a few drops to a soft, clean towel and rub onto your shoes. Let the solution sit for a few minutes, then wipe off the excess with a lint-free cloth. Always brush off excess dirt and filth before applying homemade shoe cleaner to your shoes.
