How to Make a Cellophane Wreath thumbnail
Cellophane is for more than just wrapping flowers and gifts.

Cellophane wreaths are simple and inexpensive to make, but they can brighten up any door or wall in your home. As an eco-friendly touch, transform leftover cellophane wrapping from gifts into the decorative wreaths. You can use cellophane in specific colors to create festive wreaths, such as red and green for Christmas or orange and black for Halloween. Treat friends and family members to handmade cellophane wreaths as creative and thoughtful presents.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut cellophane into approximately 100 2-by-7-inch strips; have more cellophane on hand in case you need more strips to fill the wreath. Use cellophane featuring just one color, or create a vibrant look by using two or more hues.

    • 2

Attach a cellophane strip to a 12-inch wire wreath base using a basic single knot. Tie the knot in the middle of the strip so equal lengths of cellophane stick out on each side of the wreath base.

    • 3

Continue knotting the cellophane strips onto the wreath base until the entire surface is covered. Attach the strips close together to create a full wreath.

    • 4

Embellish the completed wreath if you desire. Wrap a string of LED lights around the wreath to create a warm, festive glow. Hang ornaments from hooks along the wreath, in between the cellophane knots.

    • 5

Attach a wire hook to the back of the wreath for hanging.
