Instructions

    • 1

Position four theater-style armchairs in the room so that two are in each row. If you do not have theater-style chairs, opt for two reclining loveseats or a simple 4-piece set of comfortable chairs. When placing these items into position, have enough space in between the screen and the seating so you do not strain your neck while watching your movies.

Position a sofa so it is directly in front of the screen if you prefer this option over theater-style seats. For additional seating, place comfortable armchairs on either side of the sofa so the TV or screen is the focal point of the room.

    • 3

Place one speaker in each corner of the room so you have an effective setup for surround-sound.

    • 4

Put your big-screen television in front of the room against the wall. If you are able to, hang the TV by installing a mount on the wall, ensuring that you have space to place a DVD player for your movies.

    • 5

Install a projector on the ceiling at the opposite end of the room if you prefer a real cinema-like experience. This is particularly ideal if you have a white wall with a smooth texture that has nothing hanging on it. You may also choose to purchase a projector screen, which can be rather expensive.

Hang large framed posters of your favorite movies on the back wall of your home theater as a finishing touch.
