How to Use a Doming Machine
A doming machine is used to form flat, sheet metal into a dome or concave, particularly in jewelry making for creating items such as domed earrings or rings tops. The doming machine has several indented half circles that you can use to place the doming metal inside and then, use a punch disk and ball-peen hammer to punch the metal into the domed shape. You then continue using smaller and smaller circles until you achieve the domed look you want.

1
Place one of your copper disks on a hold on your doming block. Use your ball-peen hammer to punch one of your doming punches into your copper disk.
-
2
Tap the hammer around the disk completely until it starts to form into a dome shape. Take the disk out of its location and place it on a section of the block such as a smaller hole now that it is shaped a little.
