How to Indent Bullets in Word for a Mac

Microsoft Word is one of the most well-known word-processing software available, created by Microsoft as part of its Office productivity suite for Windows and Mac OS. Its plethora of tools enables users to perform various formatting tricks and customize the layout of their text and graphics. Adding bullets can be done from the Home menu but each set of bullets can then be indented either by using your Tab key or adding a subset of bullets.

Instructions

    • 1

Add bullets to the text you want by select the appropriate text, then clicking the bullet icon which is in the "Home" tab under the "Paragraph" section.

    • 2

Indent every bullet in the list by clicking one of the bullets in the list, then pressing "Tab." When properly selected the bullets should turn grey indicating that you have selected them and not the text itself. You can tab over as many times as you want until your bullets are where you want them to be.

    • 3

Create an indented subset of bullets by placing your cursor at the end of the bullet preceding where you want the subset, then press "Enter." This will create a new bullet indented one level further. For example, if you had a list of three items and wanted the next indentation of bullets to come after the second item place your cursor at the end of the second item, then press "Enter."
