How to Clean a Dacron-Wrapped Foam Pillow
Dacron lining is a synthetic lining that supports pillows. This lining is wrapped around foam or polyester and helps it keep its shape. It is important to wash pillows at least twice a year to keep allergens away, and Dacron is a washable material. However, the foam in the pillows does not wash easily in a machine and may fall apart. It is better to wash pillows by hand. If you do wash the pillows in the machine, use a short, delicate cycle and dry them on the coolest setting in the dryer. Does this Spark an idea?

1

2
Insert the pillows into the water and squish them down until they are full of water.

3
Continue squishing the pillows, flipping them around and squishing some more until you feel they are clean. This takes some time. If there was visible dirt coming out, you will need to work at it until no more dirt comes out.
-
4
Drain the sink and wring out the pillows by pressing them against the floor or wall of the sink and turning them in your hands to get the water out. Refill the sink with plain water and rinse the pillows until no more soap comes out.
-
5
Wring out the pillows as much as possible so they will dry quickly. Set them in a warm dry location to finish drying. They will dry more quickly if they are in a sunny location. Do not let them sit wet or they will quickly grow mold. They need to dry straight through to the center, so keep them in this location until they are thoroughly dry.
