Instructions

    • 1

Paint the front and sides of the monogram with a color that closely matches the crystals you will use. Once it dries, paint the back as well. Also paint the dowel rod.

    • 2

Grab a crystal firmly with the tweezers with the flat bottom facing away from the tweezers. Place a small amount of glue in the center of the crystal. Be sure not to use too much glue so it doesn’t wrap around the crystal.

    • 3

Glue the crystal near the edge of the wood monogram or other shape, such as a heart, you have chosen for your cake topper. You want the crystal to hang slightly over the tip of the monogram so that no wood is showing.

    • 4

Continue gluing crystals as close together as possible in rows until you fill the entire monogram. You can rotate smaller and larger crystals to create a different look. You may choose to rotate colors as well to match the theme of your wedding. Allow the glue to dry.

    • 5

Place a small amount of glue on the backside of the monogram directly in the center. Glue the dowel to the monogram. The tip of the dowel should be even with the top of the monogram. You should have approximately 4 to 5 inches of the dowel hanging from the bottom of your cake topper so it can be placed in the cake securely.

Tips & Warnings

  • The size of your monogram will greatly depend on the size of your cake.

  • After the wedding, you can easily remove the wood dowel and glue your monogram to the front of your wedding album for a customized keepsake cover.
